Preds/Capitals

March 10th, 2009

Game tied after 2. Caps tied it up on a bad line change and lack of hustle by Arnott to get into the play. Big 20 minutes coming up. Belak with another fight. 1 fight away from the hat trick.

Suter with a goal after the Preds held the Caps in the zone. Leggy line on OV line. What fights. Belak with the haymaker.

Source: Radulov To Be Back Next Year

March 6th, 2009

I have heard from my sources that Radulov will be back next year and the Poile will be offering him a long term deal.

Preds Trade Rumor Update

March 3rd, 2009

There are rumors that Antropov and Ponikarovsky from the Maple Leafs will be traded to the Preds after the Oilers game on Tuesday.  The Preds would most likely deal VK, Dman from the minors like Franson and a pick.  The Preds will try to extend Antropov since he will be a UFA.  If he doesn’t have interest then the preds may not do the deal or just take Ponikarovsky.

Avery To Go Through Re-Entry on Monday

March 1st, 2009

All indications is Sean Avery will be back on re-entry which means any team can get him at half price for 4 more years.  That is $2 million per a season.  This guy for all the trouble can be a real bargain for the cash strapped Predators.  Question for Poile is he worth the risk?

Trade Rumor Update

March 1st, 2009

The latest trade rumor is that the Preds are interested in Gaborik.  To get him I assume a 2nd and VK or Klein or Franson.

Preds Crush Red Wings 8 to 0

February 28th, 2009

This game was unbelievable.  What happened to the Preds team that couldn’t score.  They now have 17 goals in 3 games, avg over 5 goals per.  Rinne with another great game and the shutout.  Arnott with a hat trick.  Sully and Dumont with 3 assists.  VK getting a goal.   Time to savor this win.  What a night in front of a sellout crowd.  For the time being the Predators are in the 8th place in the Western Conference.  That wont last once the Oilers/Wild games ends.  But for now we enjoy.

Holy cow! 5 goals in the 1st by the Preds. VK looked good. Preds need to keep the pressure on.

O’Reilly in as 4th line center. Belak cratched. Erat is a GTD.

Erat Injured

February 27th, 2009

Erat injured his groin in the win over Phoenix.  Tough break at a bad time.  All we can do is hope it is a couple day thing, maybe he misses the Detroit game, but will back for the Oilers and Blue Jackets.

I would guess Hornqvist will get the call up and will be suited up.  Probably will see either Tootoo and/or Philstrom moved up to the Leggy line.

Preds/Coyotes

February 26th, 2009

Another solid game.   Leggy line was unstoppable, Arnott played like a mad man and Rinne was well Rinne.  This team is moving on up in the standing.  Only 1 point out now of the playoffs.   Erat’s potential injury is the only downer tonight.  I will savor this one so I don’t have to think about the Wings for a night.

Preds lead 2 to 1 after 2. Preds with 34 SOG. Arnott with a goal after another TO created by him. Great work by the captain. Leggy hit a post. Lone goal by the coyotes was after a questionable non offsides call. 20 minutes left.

1 to 0 Preds after 1. Preds with 19 SOG. Sully with a goal after Arnott created a turnover. Leggy line looking sharp creating many chances.

Preds/Hawks

February 24th, 2009

Preds win 5 to 3!  What a win by the Preds.  The third period had everything you need to comeback from 2 goals down.  The Preds had two powerplay goals, one of those from Dumont.  They had a great forecheck leading to penalties by the Hawks and great goaltending.   The Preds need to bottle this play for every period.

Legwand in my mind should have been the number 1 star.  Best game of the year overall.  Great defense, the goal which got the comeback started.

The Coyotes up next on Thursday.

—————

0 to 0 end of 1. VK playing wing on the 4th line. That line has not done well so far. Another Preds powerplay which gave the hawks more chances than the preds. Rinne looks good.

Koistinen Trade Coming Soon

February 22nd, 2009

Koistinen is close to being traded.  Most likely it will be to an Eastern conference team looking for depth on the blueline.  The Senators have shown interest in the blueliner.
