Russia Says Radulov Can Play and Opening Day

The Predators have learned that the Russian KHL says their agreement doesn’t cover Radulov because that was 5 days before the “oral” agreement.  This is a bunch of you know what.  The KHL is grandstanding and is trying to prove a point (while enjoying the power and limelight).

On to some positive news, the NHL released the Preds first home game will be against the Dallas Stars on Oct. 11th.

Defenseman Klein Re-Signs With Predators

Radulov Signs With Russian Team

Alexander Radulov signed a $23-24 million deal with a Russian club, despite the fact he is under contract with the Predators.  I really don’t mind him singing if he was NOT under contract.  But being under contract this is a dirty move by Radulov.  I am sure if he somehow stays a Pred he will not be welcomed in Nashville.    He has already shown his true colors.  He is the Predators version of Benedict Arnold.

Tough Guy Acquired

The Predators have signed free agent tough guy Josh Gratton.  This pickup will replace Hordichuk and will fill the Preds enforcer role.

NHL Salary Cap Rises, Thank the Canadian Dollar

The NHL salary cap rose another 11% this year due to surging revenues.  Canadian teams generate about a 1/3rd of all league revenues.   This can almost be squarely put on the rise of the Canadian dollar versus the US dollar.

Official: Zidlicky to Wild

The prospect mentioned was Ryan Jones. Jones is a big boy at 6′2″ and 215lbs. He seems like the power forward the team has needed since Hartnell was traded.

Weber Signs New Deal

Shea Weber has signed a 3 year, $13.5 million deal with the Predators.   The deal will pay him on average $4.5 million a season making him Nashville’s highest paid defenseman.

According to the Tennessean, the Preds are closing in on a multi-year deal with Shea Weber.
